What is grace? Is it as the dictionary defines the noun as smooth movement or goodwill? Is it politeness or a divine allotment of talent or blessing? Host Joven Hundal tackles this ethereal subject with grace! Brand new reporter, Siri Phaneendra describes her life with dancing the Bharatnatyam. She says that “with my hand gestures, I can depict anything from a lion to the feeling of superiority to a lotus or even an elephant.” Siri shares information about her nonprofit, You and I that provides services for terminally ill children and her A.I. app. Joven reads two chapters about grace, both written by Cynthia’s. Cynthia Cheong wrote a chapter for the forthcoming book, Be the Star You Are! Millennials to Boomers, and Cynthia Brian wrote the chapter for the original book in the series, Everyday brings opportunities for grace — open your heart and let grace shine in.
Bio:
Siri Phaneendra is 15 years old and is currently a junior in Dublin, California.
Siri is a professionally trained Bharatanatyam dancer, an Indian classical dance. She fell in love with this form of dance at the age of five and since then, her journey of life revolves around dancing. She has performed Bharatnatyam on TV and many other public venues. In addition to her passion for dancing, Siri enjoys playing musical instruments, including guitar, piano, and clarinet. She is also a student in the Engineering and Design Academy at her high school. During her freshman year, she was placed in the top three in the Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair for creating an artificial-intelligence facial recognition security app.
To give back to the community, Siri founded You and I Give, an organization that provides services and raises funds for terminally ill and special needs children. In her current project, Siri is in the process of raising funds for the terminally ill children in George Mark Children’s House in order to provide financial support to cover patients’ costs of hydrotherapy sessions, bereavement for families, and medical devices.
Siri wants to pursue her dream of being an entrepreneur. She is also the founder and CEO of a stealth start-up business. She is in the process of starting an e-commerce company that enables people to express their love to their loved ones in a tangible, personalized, and comical way.
